Happy Birthday Adam

Today it’s my birthday and I am turning seven. I got a DVD player and body wash. The funniest present I got was body wash.

Cross Country 2014

Cross Country 2014

At the Cross Country I was puffing and blowing. My knees did a dance. My heart was pumping fast. My legs were shaking.

“Oh no! I fell over and hurt my hand!” I said to dad.

“Are you all right?” Dad said.
I said, “Yes, but it hurt my hand.”
Dad said, “What hand?”
I sprained my arm. I went to the hospital. The got a bandage on me. My family came to see me.

The horn honked. The races went ahead of me. I was behind but I didn’t cross the finish line.

We went to the cross-country. I came fifth. I just about got fourth. But when I was close to the line someone over took me.

Cross Country 2014
Salty sweat was dripping down my face like a tap turned on. I was running as fast as I could go. I came third. Lily came first and Zoe came second. I was happy.

I felt nervous when I lined up. I scared when the horn went off. I was puffing. My heart was beating. I was racing around the track.

Cross Country 2014
At cross-country I was running fast. I came fifth.
“Wow!” said my mum and dad, “You are good!”
When the horn went off I tripped up and I got back up and kept going. I am brave.

Cross Country 2014
I won the cross-country two years in a row. When I lined up at the star line my legs were wobbling like jelly. When I won the cross-country my heart was beating fast.

Cross Country 2014
I tried my hardest to come first at cross-country but I came second last. It was tiring and exhausting. I felt like I was going to sleep. My guts were twisting but I tried to run as fast as I could.

Cross Country 2014
It was cross-country day. I was lined up at the start line. I was very, very, nervous and my legs were shivering. When the hooter went “boom” all of us went.

Cross Country 2014
“Pit, pat,” my shoes went when I walked down the road. People were cheering for me as I crossed the finish line. I got a lot of hay fever from the grass. I was exhausted after my race.

Feeling Nervous

I was lined up at the start line. My heart was beating hard. My legs were wobbling like jelly. My breath is battling with the wind. I hope I win this race.

I'm feeling really nervous about cross country. My heart is pumping hard. I'm scared because I have to race other people.

Motorbikes

Yesterday Jack and I went on the motorbike. We went around the trees. We drifted around the mud. We were excited until we crashed!

Writing About Rubbish

Rubbish

I feel cross that people are leaving rubbish on the grass. The bugs are then eating the rubbish and getting sick. Please stop littering! Please, please, please stop littering. We are trying our best to save the planet.

By Jaz

Disgraceful

I am disgraced at the amount of rubbish people have been leaving around. I feel mad and psycho. Rubbish is killing our animals. Did you know it takes 1 million years to for a glass bottle to break down? That’s a long time!

By Andre

Sad

When people put rubbish on the ground I feel very very upset and sad because some animals are dying. They think the rubbish is food so they eat it and choke or their tummies get full of rubbish.

What happens to rubbish when it is buried?

We buried four different pieces of rubbish we found in our playground. We buried an apple core, a sticker, a muesli bar wrapper and a yoghurt container.

Hypothesis:
Half of our class thought that the apple core would break down the fastest as it is natural. The other half of our class thought the sticker would break down the fastest because it was the smallest.

Method:
   1. We collected rubbish from our school and decided on four pieces to burry.

   2. We took photographs of each piece of rubbish next to a ruler to show height and took observation notes about each piece of rubbish.

3. We dug a hole in the garden.

     4. We put the rubbish in the hole.

     5. We waited four weeks and then dug up the rubbish.

     6. We observed what had happened.
